How to choose which content types get deleted

İngilizce olarak mevcut

When you open an account, Unpost lists everything it can remove on that platform, on a screen headed with the platform’s name and your account. Each ticked row is a selection, and a run works through them in turn.

  1. 01

    Pick the right tab

Discord, Instagram, Reddit and Slack have two tabs. On Discord they are Dms and Servers, on Slack Dms and channels: your DMs, and the servers or channels you are in. On Instagram and Reddit they are Dms and Content: Dms lists your chats, Content the kinds of content. So on Instagram, posts, likes and comments are on the Content tab. The screen opens on Dms: tap Content to reach them.

Open a group to choose inside it

On Facebook, TikTok and X, most options sit in groups. The arrow or the name opens a group, and its box ticks every option inside; tapping it again unticks them all. If only some are ticked, the box shows a half mark and a tap ticks the rest. Once one is ticked, the group’s header shows how many of its options are, such as 2/2.

  3. 03

Read the line under each option

On Facebook, TikTok and X, a line under each option says what goes and what stays. Removing a repost, for example, takes off your share only: the original post stays on its author’s profile. Instagram, LinkedIn and Reddit show the option names only.

    Be careful with list-wide options

Instagram’s Unfollow All and Remove All Followers act on your whole following and follower lists. Select all on that tab ticks them too, so untick them before you continue unless that is what you want. On Instagram, the date range and the like or comment limits on the next screen apply to posts, reels and carousels only (the date range to DMs too), so they narrow neither these two nor your likes and comments.

Use Select all on long lists

Lists without groups have a search box and a Select all button; the number on the button is how many rows the list is showing (all of them, or only the search matches). After a search it ticks only the matching rows, and once they are all ticked it reads Deselect all, with the same number. On Discord’s Servers tab, open a server first: its channel list has its own search box and Select all.

Follow the selections during the run

The bars at the bottom of the run card are your selections: the one running is animated, with a light band sweeping across it, and each turns solid when it finishes. With more than 20 selections they merge into a single bar. The card names the selection being deleted. On Facebook and X, selections that share one pass over your history run and are named together (on X: Posts, Reposts, Replies and Quotes; on Facebook, the first seven rows under Delete Posts), so several bars can move at once. The count under the name, such as 1/3 items, is finished selections out of the total, and Total Deleted, on the right, is how many items this run has removed so far.

Bilmekte fayda var

  • You can tick rows on both tabs; one run handles them all.
  • Each extra selection usually means another pass over your history, so fewer selections make a shorter run.
  • Reading a long history can take a while before the first item goes. That is the app walking your history, not a stall.
