How to add an account and run your first cleanup
Unpost is an app of its own, not a plug-in inside Instagram or any other app, and there is no Unpost account to create: you connect each platform inside Unpost, on that platform’s own login page. Here is the whole loop on X, which the app calls Twitter. Every platform follows it; what changes is whether the sheet in step 4 appears, the list of what can be deleted, and whether an options screen opens after step 5.
- 01
Tap Main at the bottom
The very first time, Unpost asks you to choose its language (Apply Language; you can change it later in Settings → Change Language), then shows its privacy policy: tap Continue. Until you have Premium, Unpost then opens on the Subscription tab. You don’t need to subscribe: you can try Unpost free first, with up to 50 deletions a day on each account. Tap Main to get to your platforms.

- 03
Sign in on the platform’s page
Sign in with your username or email and password, and any code the platform asks for. Use the password form: on Android, the Google and Apple sign-in buttons open your browser, and a sign-in finished there never reaches Unpost. When the login is done, the page closes by itself and the account appears in the list, with what it can still delete today under its name. Nobody from Unpost will ever ask for your password or a login code.

Tap the account and choose Delete from X (Twitter)
On X, Discord, Slack and Reddit a sheet asks how to delete. For a first run, pick the first option, which deletes what the platform still lists for you. On X, Discord and Reddit, Delete from data package is for old content the platform no longer shows.
In the app Main → Twitter → account → Delete from X (Twitter)
- 05
Tick what to delete, then tap Continue
Each row is one kind of content; on X, a line under it says what it removes and what stays online. Delete Content is a group: tap its name to open it, then tick just the kinds you want, here Delete Posts. The group’s own box ticks all four kinds inside it, replies, reposts and quotes included. When an option applies to what you ticked, such as a date range or keywords, the options screen, Before we delete, opens next: set what you need, leave the rest as it is (an empty box means no limit, while 0 counts as a limit), then tap Continue again. On X only Delete Likes has an option, so here the Review sheet opens straight away.
In the app Delete Content → Delete Posts → Continue
- 06
Check the Review sheet and tap Start deleting
The sheet lists what will go: a tile for each kind you ticked, with its date range (All time here) and any filters that apply. Under Before you start are the rules of a run. Nothing is deleted until you tap Start deleting. On Android the run keeps going if you switch apps or lock the screen, but stops if you close Unpost from your recent apps; keep a TikTok run on screen. On iPhone, keep Unpost open on screen. Don’t use the account anywhere else while it runs.
In the app Continue → Review → Start deleting
- 07
Let it run
The card shows what is being deleted now and the total so far; the small 0/1 under the name counts your selections, not items. Free Remaining counts down what is left of today’s allowance. Deleting is slow on purpose. To stop early, tap the Deleting button at the bottom.

Read the result
When the run ends, the result screen names the platform and the account, how many items went and how each selection ended. Delete More takes you back to the list for the same account; if the run stopped early, the button reads Try again and does the same. If it stopped because today’s 50 free deletions are used up, it reads Upgrade Now and opens the Subscription tab; to wait for the next day’s allowance instead, tap Back to Home. When a run stops for another reason, the result says why and what to do next.

Good to know
- Deleting is permanent. There is no undo, and Unpost keeps no backup.
- On Instagram, the account opens on the Dms tab: posts, reels, carousels, comments and likes are on the Content tab beside it, where Select all also ticks Unfollow All and Remove All Followers. See How to choose which content types get deleted.
- Reddit has no daily cap. For how the 50 a day are counted, see How the free daily limit works, and what “Daily limit reached” means.
- If the login page doesn’t close after you sign in, see How to sign in, and fix a login that won’t connect.
- If the result says the platform paused the run, or Nothing deleted, see What to do when a platform pauses your cleanup, and Why a cleanup found nothing, stopped early, or still shows posts.
